Thursday Think Tank: Still Life

I haven't done a still life in my classroom for a very long time so I really enjoyed teaching my students how to SEE objects as they ARE not as we think they look like.

We did some still life drawings a while back and I finally have a few on display.

Love having these display cases right next to my room, so easy to put work out and I can't wait till we get into more 3D stuff!

How do you display your students work? What kind of objects do you have for your still life assignments?

Origami!

Meet RUFUS our giant origami studio mascot! This guy started out as a 4 ft + square piece of paper!

Finally got it down!

Tiniest origami I've EVER seen!

One student did this at home!

Working together on a large crane!

Mini cranes...can we fill this jar up by summer???

Family time!

Before the break I just finished up a week of origami with my students! The first few days were really hard for them trying to get the hang of the folds down and letting their muscle memory kick in, but by the end of the week they were pros! All different shapes and sizes these were so fun to make!

What other origami creations do you like to teach your classes?
